Dogfighting ring found in Chattanooga

While searching for drugs Friday in Chattanooga, members of the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation stumbled upon a dogfighting ring.

Investigators from TBI were serving a narcotics search warrant at 6302 Talladega Ave. when they found several pit bulls and a fight ring, spokeswoman Kristin Helm wrote in an email. Some of the house's carpet and paneling are stained with blood.

Helm wrote that McKamey Animal Services is processing the fight scene. Officers have not made an arrest.


Man shot during argument

Chattanooga police said a man was shot and wounded during an argument Friday in the 7700 block of Nautical Way.

Cantrell Goodloe, 33, was taken to a hospital in a private vehicle, according to the police news release.
