OK, you know the drill. We normally have five things at 10 a.m. - the 5-at-10, pretty cleve huh?

Anyhoo, we normally do shorter versions during vacations and on holidays. Today being Memorial Day - and if you know a military person - and you do - please remember to thank them for their service to our great nation.

The short version is normally a top 5 list, but there's too much happening right now to limit our horizons.

So, from the "Talks too much" studios, let's bring back a Casey Kasem classic, "Keep your feet on the ground and keep reaching for the stars."

LeBron and the Heatles

LeBron James played great Friday night but had two turnovers late in a Game 2 loss. He was brilliant - 14-of-20 from the field for 36 points and eight rebounds - but the Heat lost and the Pacers took home-court.

James and the Heat took it back Sunday. And they did with an exclamation point and a smirk on their collective faces.

James' numbers were more subdued in the Heat's 114-96 waxing in Game 3 Sunday night - 22 points, four rebounds, three assists - but his ability to control the flow from the post offensively and his lockdown effort on Paul George made Game 3 so one-sided we have to wonder how the first two games were so close.

Game 4 becomes huge for the Pacers, and if they do not have an answer for LeBron on the block - same tune as Jenny from the block, but the lyrics are darker - where he creates open shots for teammates and match-up nightmares, good night.

Speaking of good-night, let's throw a shout-out to Downtown Patrick Brown's Memphis Grizzlies, who fell into an insurmountable 3-0 hole to the San Antonio Spurs.

The Grizz had a great run - and we thought they were Finals bound after Russell Westbrook was injured - and in some ways Downtown and the rest of Grind Nation may be disappointed this morning since the season is all but done.

Well, to that the Dr. 5-at-10 has two prescriptions. One, start kicking back Co-Colas now. Hey, it's a holiday, and you're way, Way, WAY more fun at the cook out with some pregame hydration. Second, let's pay tribute to the Spurs, who have the most underrated coach of his generation (Greg Popovich), the most underrated superstar (Tim Duncan) maybe of all-time and the mist underrated dynasty in modern sports. Those three things combined to allow the Spurs rally from an 18-point hole to win Game 3 in overtime and quash this series.

Speaking of Duncan, and we've covered this before around these parts, but the Duncan Rushmore - Hall of Fame players who still do not get the credit they deserved for whatever reason (this is also the anti-Scottie Pippen Rushmore) - for us would be Duncan, Stan Musial, Larry Holmes, Eric Dickerson. (Close but no cigar for Hank Aaron, Dan Marino, Super Mario and Moses Malone, which is a pretty stout second-team Rushmore.)

NASCAR update

The NASCAR boys ran deep into the night in Charlotte on Sunday, going 600 long miles after a delayed start because of a TV cable that fell, hurting fans and damaging cars.

(Side note: Of all the many hurdles facing NASCAR, a sneaky big one that will only be bigger in the future is the aging facilities. Sports franchises around the globe are building bigger and better venues to enhance the fan experience. NASCAR is still running circles at the same ol' joints. And now cables are falling on folks. Less than ideal, huh?)

For the most part it was a good race - we used to love the Memorial circles of Indy and Charlotte, watching those guys turn left at 200 mph was great background noise for Memorial Day cookouts everywhere. In fact, Charlotte was always one of favorites because of the difficulty of starting in the afternoon sun and finishing in cooler conditions.

Sunday, though, the 5-at-10 compound was all about lil' Ms. 5-at-10's 3-year-old birthday party. Call it luck or extremely powerful timing by the Mrs. 5-at-10, but our two tots have late May and early September birthdays, which mean family parties and get-togethers on the Sundays of Memorial and Labor days. It makes for great travel chances for those out of towners, and we had a few. Good times.

Still, as we watched the final laps of the NASCAR race - there was a great Sunday night wind down triple play of NBA, Braves and NASCAR - we realized that Kevin Harvick should have more on his resume than he does. We expected huge things from the kid that handled the toughest replacement job in sports history better than anyone could have expected.

So it goes.

- Love our SEC football ace David Paschall's story on SEC attendance in Sunday's paper. If you missed it, here you go .

- Braves reliever Cory Gearrin got roughed up in the eighth last night in a 4-2 loss to the Mets. It happens.

- Notre Dame quarterback Everett Golson is no longer with the program. After starting 11 games in last year's 12-1 season, Golson was suspended for what he called "poor academic judgement" and yes, we have zero idea what that is. But speaking as someone that routinely exhibited poor academic judgement - you know going to class makes things a LOT easier - this sounds like it could be pretty bad. Maybe he could make up some work online... No, Notre Dame has had way too many headaches with making stuff up online recently. (Thank you, thank you and remember to tip the wait staff.)

- Duke basketball star Ryan Kelly got engaged recently to Lindsay Cowher. Yes, she is the daughter of perma-scowler Bill Cowher. Wow, we don't have a toughest father-in-law Rushmore, but Cowher would definitely be in the conversation. What a chin.

- Reports have Terry Bradshaw in preparations for his one-man show in Vegas. OK, there are too many things to say here, but know that it's supposed to show off Bradshaw's singing and dancing skills. Aye Carumba.
