A photo has been released of a "person of interest" in the Wednesday robbery of the Dalton Drug Store where the robber threw gasoline on an employee.

The Dalton Police Department and Dalton Fire Department responded just after 2:30 p.m. to a report of an armed robbery in progress at the Dalton Drug Pharmacy, a news release states.

A white male wearing a blue shirt, blue pants and a hat walked into the Dalton Drug Pharmacy at 2709 Airport Road and demanded pain pills, according to Dalton police. An employee refused his request, and the man threw gasoline from a small drink bottle he was carrying onto the employee.

The robber then grabbed a bottle of hydrocodone and ran from the store.

Officers and firefighters evacuated the pharmacy and the neighboring Med Now clinic as a precaution, but employees were allowed back inside after firefighters determined there was no danger, the release states.

Firefighters remained at the scene to ventilate the pharmacy.

Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the police department's Criminal Investigations Division at 706-278-9085, extension 120.
