The Hamilton County Commission's Finance Committee voted to approve a $6.75 million contract with Motorola to replace 1,697 portable radios for various county departments.
The new radios are required for county departments to be in compliance with 800 Mhz narrow banding requirements set by the Federal Communications Commission.
The committee will recommend approval to the full commission Wednesday.
