The June exhibit at River Gallery is also a celebration of the River Gallery Sculpture Garden's 20th anniversary.

"Inside & Out" will feature the works of longtime gallery artist Russell Whiting, a self-taught sculptor from Louisiana. The exhibit will be on view from Saturday, June 1, through Sunday, June 30.

An opening reception is scheduled from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Saturday. The reception will start in the gallery and include a garden stroll with the artist.

Whiting uses an acetylene torch in his carving techniques to create his impressive steel sculptures, whose classical forms are executed with contemporary concepts. His imagery stems from sources such as religion, ancient cultures and cinema, resulting in fusions of the past and present.

River Gallery is at 400 E. Second St. in the Bluff View Art District.
