Erlanger helps food bank

Erlanger Health System and Erlanger/Sodexo Food and Nutrition Services recently collected and donated the equivalent of 6.2 tons of nonperishable food and cash to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank during the 2013 Servathon Food Drive.

Erlanger employees and associates formed more than 20 teams to collect food and cash over two weeks in May, according to a news release.

The drive raised $2,381 and 510 pounds of food, said Jonathan Darling, general manager of Erlanger/Sodexo Food Services, said in the release.

"The donations will go a long way to providing food to over 20,000 local residents of Chattanooga who utilize the food bank each and every week," said Darling.
