Lee Everette Strawter, 42, turned himself in Wednesday at the Rossville Police Department on charges he shot a man who lived across the street from him, according to the Walker County Sheriff's Office.

Sheriff Steve Wilson said Strawter and 24-year-old Quinton Cox got into an argument Tuesday about a woman whom both men used to date. During the argument in Cox's front yard, Strawter allegedly pulled out a .357-caliber handgun and shot Cox two or three times.

Strawter also shot Cox's home, where his wife and stepchildren were, Wilson said. But only Cox got hit. He then retreated to his home, and his wife drove him to Hutcheson Medical Center. Doctors later transferred him to Erlanger hospital, where he remained Tuesday evening.

Wilson said that Strawter took off after the shooting.

Strawter faces four warrants charging aggravated assault and was taken to the Walker County Jail.
