The Red Bank Police Department has reported its arrest of Samuel Cromwell Rice, 22, and charged him with attempted murder in connection with the stabbing of Robert McBride on Sunday.

Police responded to reports of a stabbing at 107 Goodson Ave. and reported their finding McBride in the parking. He had two stab wounds to his back.

McBride alleged he had been stabbed by Rice, but said he didn't know why. He was taken to a local hospital.

Late in the afternoon, officers went again to the Goodson Avenue address after the suspect had called 911 asking for medical assistance. A news release said officers found the suspect had a laceration to his left hand and he was taken for treatment.

Later he was arrested, charged with attempted murder and is now being held on a $150,000 bond at the Hamilton County Jail.
