Card-Monroe Corp. wins 2013 Spirit of Innovation award

Card-Monroe Corp., was named today as the winner of the 2013 Spirit of Innovation award.

The Chattanooga company was cited for a new carpet tufting machine that enhances carpet manufacturing and design.

Also, the Chattanooga tech firm Coulometrics received the Early Innovator Award at the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce event.

Katharine Frase, Chief Technology Officer of IBM Public Sector, was the keynote speaker.

In addition, a group of local female investors announced formation of The JumpFund, an angel fund aimed at investing in women-led companies with growth potential. Kristina Montague, the fund's managing partner, said plans are to raise $2 million by next spring and invest in 10 to 12 companies.
