Man sentenced to 10 years in computer hacking case

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Federal prosecutors say a man who hacked into computer systems belonging to the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.

Authorities say Jeremy Hammond, also known as "Anarchaos," appeared in a New York federal court late last week.

Officials say the man hacked into the FBI's system in June of 2011 and into the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office's computer system in October 2011.
