Abandoned boa constrictor found in Cullman, Ala.

CULLMAN, Ala. - Police in Cullman say they're searching for the owner of a boa constrictor that was found in a pillowcase near a trash bin.

Assistant Chief Craig Green says police responded to a call about the snake Tuesday. Green estimates that the snake is between 4 and 5 feet long and weighs between 20 and 30 pounds.

Green says Patrol Capt. Bobby Kelley, a snake owner, is caring for the boa constrictor since the department's animal shelter isn't capable of housing the reptile.

Kelley says the snake isn't poisonous, but authorities are unsure of whether the boa constrictor is aggressive.
