Local professionals bringing experience, skill to Chattanooga

Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013

No matter the need or the problem, Chattanooga is home to many business professionals that are more than willing to share their skills and services with the community.

When it comes to the world of real estate, local Realtor Grace Frank says strategy is key for success in business and in life. “I always say your strategy matters and your passion rules,” she said. “I have a real knack for strategy and a real passion for real estate.”

Negotiations in real estate strategy can be a bit like playing cards, according to Frank. Those involved must know when to hold them and when to show them. Every situation is different and it depends on the personality of the buyer and sellers.

To contact Grace Frank for a personal consultation, call 423-355-1538 or email grace@gracefrankgroup.com.

For finances, local CPA Jefferson Wells is working to see that his clients are ready for the end of the year.

“Between now and the end of the year we do lots of tax planning with our clients,” he said. “There are two types of taxpayers: the informed and the uninformed. We try to keep our clients informed.”

Most people pay too much in taxes each year, he said, and it’s his job to help clients review their history on their return to be sure that it doesn’t happen in the year to come. To schedule a consultation with Wells, call 423-892-3331 or visit jeffersonwellscpa.com.

Being family owned and operated is also key for many local businesses, including Southeast Air Systems. The business, owned by Danny Baker, recently merged with Precision Heating & Air Conditioning, formerly co-owned by James Lee and Baker’s father, the late Denny Baker.

“Mr. Lee was looking to retire, and it was a good opportunity for me to come back in and take the business that I worked at with my dad,” Baker said. “People recognize the Baker name, and they will know me.”

Southeast Air Systems serves a broad area covering 50- to 75-mile radius. The business handles mainly residential installations, service calls and maintenance, though it has some commercial clients as well.

For more information on their services or to schedule an appointment for service, call 423-499-4022 or visit southeastairsystems.com.

Keefe Plumbing Company is another family owned and operated business that offers its name and services to Chattanoogans. It all began with Jack A. Keefe in the basement of his home in 1950, and today the successful business continues with its newest president, Kay Keefe.

“My dad Mike joined as partners with my grandfather in 1963, and then he bought it in 1975,” Keefe said of her family’s business. “Now, in 2013, I’ve purchased the business.”

As Chattanooga’s first female master plumber, she has a solid background in what she does. Keefe Plumbing is a part of the Tennessee Association of Plumbing, Heating and Cooling Contractors. Keefe is licensed in Tennessee and Georgia.
