Man arrested, charged in Chattanooga pawn shop, ATM robberies

Lequan Bennett, a man wanted in Hamilton County in the robbery of several ATM machines and the Nov. 6 robbery of a pawn shop on Lee Highway, was arrested today by the U.S. Marshals Service.

Bennett was also wanted in Georgia on violation of state probation charges.

Two of Bennett's alleged accomplices were already in custody.

Monday, Chattanooga Division of the Smoky Mountains Fugitive Task Force agents teamed up with local and federal agents in a manhunt for Bennett.

The U.S. Marshals Service worked with the Whitfield County Sheriff's Office, East Ridge Police Department and Hamilton County Sheriff's Office to locate Bennett. They discovered he was living at 184 Providence Way in Whitfield, Ga.

Bennett faces aggravated robbery and probation violation charges.
