Man shot during parking lot robbery in Chattanooga

A man was shot in the leg during a robbery in Chattanooga this morning, according to a news release from the police department.

Police said 30-year-old William Jackson Jr. was walking with a woman through a parking lot at the 4800 block of Jersey Pike around 1:40 a.m. when the incident happened.

Two black, male suspects weighing about 165 pounds robbed the two of cash and jewelry, fired a shot and fled on foot, according to the release.

Jackson was taken to a hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
