Remains found during cleanup

Human remains were found in the creek at Camp Jordan by volunteers cleaning up trash in the waterway during the annual Tennessee River Rescue event, according to a news release from the East Ridge Police Department.

Police were called by volunteers around 11:30 a.m. Saturday and investigators determined that they had found human remains in an advanced stage of decomposition.

No information was available as to the identity of the remains.

Shooter sought in slaying

Chattanooga police were looking Saturday for 35-year-old Santory Johnson, the suspect in a fatal shooting Friday night.

Police said they were called at 11:25 p.m. Detectives were told Santory was arguing with Christopher Jones, 24, at 4000 Chandler Ave. just before Jones was shot.

Jones was shot several times and died at a local hospital, police said.

There are warrants for Johnson's arrest. Anyone with information is asked to call the Chattanooga Police Department at 423-698-2525.
