Mellisa Ann EadsThe daughter of a Walker County Sheriff's Office detective allegedly admitted last week to selling pounds of marijuana.
On Friday, agents with the Lookout Mountain Judicial Circuit Drug Task Force arrested Aubrey Leigh-Ann Davis, the 19-year-old daughter of William Davis, records show. They also arrested William Davis' ex-wife, Mellisa Ann Eads. The women live together at 5810 Highway 151 in LaFayette, Ga., and both were charged with possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, authorities said.
William Davis has worked for the sheriff's office since 2002 and is a detective assigned to child abuse cases. He did not return a call Wednesday seeking comment. Eads and William Davis were married until 2005, and Eads has custody of their three children.
Drug Task force Commander Patrick Doyle said he did not know Aubrey Davis or Eads had ties to a detective.
On Friday, according to an arrest warrant affidavit, Drug Task Force agents served a search warrant at Eads' and Aubrey Davis' house around 10:30 a.m. They found bags of marijuana packaged to be sold in Eads' bedroom and 4 ounces of the drug inside Aubrey Davis' dresser.
Agents also found a collection of resealable bags next to the drugs, as well as a digital scale and a red cup with residue on it.
Davis later told agents that she and her mother sold "a couple pounds" of marijuana to pay the bills.
