Forever Bluegrass: Fall festival debuts this weekend - Oct. 12-13

The folks who sponsor the Boxcar Pinion Memorial Bluegrass Festival each spring have branched out into autumn. This weekend, they'll present the first Forever Bluegrass Fall Festival at Mike's Music & Concert Hall, 1546 Burnt Mill Road in Flintstone, Ga.

According to spokeswoman Cindy Pinion, the festival starts at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12, with a showcase of bands. Set to play are County Line Bluegrass, Barefoot Nellie & Company, Bluetastic Fangrass, Graz Backards, Fox Mountain Express, Ed Allison and Double Cross, Found the Fiddle, Blueroad Bluegrass and Forgiven.

Folk School of Chattanooga will offer music workshops and an instrument petting zoo for kids. Doors open at noon.

Feller & Hill and the Bluegrass Buckaroos will close out the festival with a concert at 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 13.

Admission is free for the Saturday concerts and workshops. Admission is $10 for Feller & Hill on Sunday.

Concessions will be available, and free camping is offered on Friday and Saturday nights. Lawn chairs are suggested. The show will be held rain or shine.
