Harrison Pike was shut down Wednesday afternoon after a two-car accident required Bradley County personnel to call in helicopter assistance.

Bradley County EMS responded to the accident around 3 p.m. between Harrison Trail and Bancroft Road where they found two vehicles including an overturned Jeep Cherokee with a trapped 55-year-old woman inside. She was stabilized in an ambulance on the scene.

Bradley County Fire and Rescue responders said the woman was in serious condition, and called for a helicopter to transported her to Erlanger hospital for level one trauma treatment.

Two other patients were transported to Sky Ridge Medical Center by Bradley County EMS.

The accident is still under investigation as of Wednesday night.
