Chattanooga's pipe band victorious in Atlanta

Chattanooga's own bagpipe band wailed its way to victory Saturday in the 41st annual Stone Mountain Highland Games and Scottish Festival in Atlanta.

The City of Chattanooga Pipe Band took first in its class from a field of 13 bands, Pipe Major Tom Arnold said Sunday in a news release. He said each band is made up of a corps of pipes and a corps of drums.

The pipe band's next scheduled Chattanooga appearance is Nov. 9 during the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football halftime show, Arnold said. For more information, visit
