Engineered Floors wins top deal

Dalton-based carpet maker Engineered Floors, LLC, has received the regional award for the deal of the year by the Georgia Economic Developers Association for the company's $450 million plans to expand in Northwest Georgia. The expansion will result in the creation of 2,000 new jobs in the region.

Robert E. Shaw, chairman and CEO of Engineered Floors who accepted the award this week, said "our company's commitment to the region is reflected in our plans for this expansion that will more than double our work force."


Staffing firms to combine

EmployBridge, the Atlanta-based staffing company that operates ProLogistix, Medical Solutions and Staffing Solutions in Chattanooga and South Pittsburg, agreed Tuesday to buy 58 branch operations of Employment Plus.

The combined entity will consist of over 235 branch and on-site locations and push overall company revenues to $1 billion.
