Worker dies after accident at Wrigley Manufacturing plant in Chattanooga

One person has died after an accident Sunday afternoon at the Wrigely Manufacturing plant in Chattanooga, state officials confirmed Friday.

“There is a fatality investigation,” said Jeff Hentschel, communications director for the Tennessee Department of Labor and Workforce Development. He said that Tennessee Occupation Safety and Health is already onsite.

“They’ll be doing witness statements and collecting information for the next few weeks,” he said.

The accident occurred Sunday afternoon and TOSHA was notified on Monday, Hentschel said. The victim’s name and details about the accident have not been released.
