ACWORTH, Ga. — Police in Atlanta's northwestern suburbs are investigating the deaths of two people whose bodies were found in a home.
Cobb County police Officer Mike Bowman says officers were called to the Benbrooke subdivision south of Acworth around 1:20 p.m. Wednesday. He said police then discovered two people dead from gunshot wounds.
The Marietta Daily Journal reports that the bodies were removed from the basement of the home on gurneys that were rolled up a grassy hill behind the home moments before school buses arrived to drop off neighborhood children.
Police released few other details.
Michele Parkinson, who lives across the street, tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution that she and others had notified the homeowner's association previously about the amount of activity at the home and vehicles parked on the street.
