Stormy Halloween forecast in parts of Alabama

HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - The Halloween forecast is a little scary for parts of Alabama.

The National Weather Service says heavy rain and sustained winds of 25 mph and more are likely from this afternoon through evening in north Alabama. Some forecasts say wind gusts could reach 60 mph. A wind advisory covering the northern part of the state will be in effect from 1 p.m. to 10 p.m. today.

The worst weather during trick-or-treating hours is supposed to be around Interstate 65 in north-central Alabama, but forecasters say south Alabama may be OK until later at night.

Isolated severe storms are possible, but forecasters aren't expecting tornadoes or widespread severe weather.
