Miss Annie Awards honor CTC actors and volunteers

What: The annual Miss Annie Awards were presented volunteers both onstage and off during a program at the Chattanooga Theatre Centre. The awards honor top actors and actresses as well as volunteers in the box office or serving on stage crews at the local community theater.

Winners: Musicals took top billing at the awards, with the rock musical "Bloody, Bloody Andrew Jackson" winning 10 Miss Annie awards including Outstanding Musical production and Outstanding Stagedoor production. "Legally Blonde" received five Miss Annie awards and "Cabaret" won four. "Legally Blonde" and "Cabaret" tied for Audience Favorite Spotlight production. The drama "A Doll's House" won six awards and was named Outstanding Spotlight Production.

Food Network chef visits Virginia College

What: Chef Ben Vaughn, Food Network star and host of the TV show "Health Inspectors," visited Culinard, the Culinary Institute of Virginia College, recently. The chef led a class for students on his experiences and then helped them prepare a four-course dinner which was served to VIP guests of the college.

Benefits: Students at Virginia College School of Business and Health's Chattanooga campus.
