Two people were charged this morning with felony first-degree murder in the Friday death of a five-year-old Rhea County boy, according to the Rhea County Sheriff's Department.

Bradley Adcox, 22, and the boy's mother, Jessica Robbins, 29, each also are charged with aggravated child abuse in the death of Landon Robbins, investigator Rocky Potter said at a news conference in Dayton, Tenn.

Both suspects initially had been charged with aggravated child abuse.

The child was found unresponsive at a camper home at 715 Cawood Lane in Spring City. His body has been sent to Knoxville for an autopsy.

Investigators said Jessica Robbins and Adcox gave statements to investigators that the child had been injured on Thursday by falling into a swing set.

Investigators said there was an injury consistent with that type of fall, but the child had sustained many other injuries, as well.

An arraignment for both suspects will be Friday in Rhea County General Sessions Court.
