Chattanooga artist’s works on view in Athens show — Sept. 5-Oct. 25

“Climbing the Great Spiral, Poems and Prayers of Hope and Healing,” featuring mixed-media works by Chattanooga artist Ellen Zahorec, is on view at The Arts Center, 230 N. White St., in Athens, Tenn.

For much of the past decade, Zahorec’s work has focused on religious symbolism.

She uses acrylic, marker, colored pencil and crayon to create the vivid details inherent in her art.

Presented by the Athens Area Council for the Arts, the exhibit will remain on view through Friday, Oct. 25.

An opening reception with the artist is scheduled 5:30-6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 13.

The Arts Center is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Admission is free.
