KNOXVILLE - Knox County crews have closed a portion of Polo Club Drive in West Knox County following discovery of a sinkhole at a residence.

The sinkhole is located right beside the house and actually swallowed a tree when it opened up, said Jim Snowden, deputy director of the Knox County Department of Engineering and Public Works.

The sinkhole is about 15-by-20-feet wide, he said.
