Lynn tops Lee; Tom Halsall voted most valuable defensive player

Lee University goalkeeper Tom Halsall was voted the most valuable defensive player in the Lee Olive Garden Invitational men's soccer tournament that concluded Saturday in Cleveland, but his Flames lost 2-0 to the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II, Lynn University, after beating King in their season opener Friday.

Ozarks 1, Sewanee 0: At Sewanee in the Kyle Rote Jr. Invitational, Matt Weaver's unassisted goal 20:41 into the second half was the difference for the 2-0 Arkansas team. Jacob Zalewski made seven saves for the Tigers (0-2-2).

Sewanee (w) 6, Tennessee Temple 3: Friday night, someone besides Shelby Meckstroth finally got in on the scoring act for the Tigers (3-0).
