about Clay Bennett...

The son of a career army officer, Bennett led a nomadic life, attending ten different schools before graduating in 1980 from the University of North Alabama with degrees in Art and History. After brief stints as a staff artist at the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette and the Fayetteville (NC) Times, he went on to serve as the editorial cartoonist for the St. Petersburg Times (1981-1994) and The Christian Science Monitor (1997-2007), before joining the staff of the ...

Regardless of whether or not he gets his war, the Western political economies of engineered dependence will remain dependent on increasingly costly and destructive imperial wars until the economic system that benefits from chaos, death and destruction is replaced by one that has the possibility of working. Mr. Obama’s implied intent to maintain the existing system at all costs demonstrates the incapacity for systemic ‘self’ correction. And how closely liberal Democrat Barack Obama’s policies have followed those of conservative Republican George W. Bush’s is testament to the unity of interests guiding all public policy in the West. That at this point in history dropping bombs retains an internal logic in ‘official’ Washington demonstrates just how small the realm of political imagination is. To be clear, Mr. Obama, like Mr. Bush before him, is calling on the U.S. military to ‘punish’ the political instability the U.S. created and perpetuated along with the use of chemical weapons the U.S. and / or its allies sold for a ‘profit’ into this manufactured instability, all in an effort to maintain control of oil for the very Western corporations that engineered Western political economies to be dependent on this oil. Perhaps Mr. Bush’s minions had it right, but for the wrong reasons, with their idiot chant of ‘freedom ain’t free.’

In this case I trust Putin to handle it more than the U.S.. I am starting to really dislike McCain and his condescending smirk. We still act like we have unlimited resources and no or limited debt of years past. It will be interesting to hear the facts this evening about how our security will be compromised if we don't hit Syria with a very small short attack as described by Kerry. Is our community organizer 'n chief at the top of his game or not?

I'll take that bet.

He will be most appreciative, gracious, and is probably this very minute, preparing his speech announcing that he will be standing down on his call to bomb Syria.

By the way...whatever happened to Egypt?

Months ago? Won't happen.

ALPo, As BHO's chief defender, I'm not surprised at your response. (defenders are dwindling, btw) You're already setting up exactly what BHO will say. If not for Sec. Heinz' blunder, the Putin thing would never have come up. And it's all BS and the world will recognize it as such. Your man is a laughingstock and most of the world knows it. Jump off that train, Alpy. It's about to hit a barricade.

What a sick puppy. Alprova is excited about Obamascare. Excited about low quality, rationed, DMV like mediocrity for all healthcare for all. Obama wants a single payer system without any profit motive. If you think that system will be high quality, cure rare diseases, and drive innovation then you are wrong. Dead wrong!

I'm glad I don't have to participate. I pay cash for my families healthcare.

As for Obama, don't worry all you "give peace a chance types" he will do as always the politically correct thing. Look for a wonkish, academic, boring lecture tonight on how a "coalition of peacemakers" are going to solve the problem. Listen for how many times Barry says "I" in the lecture. He likes himself...........A LOT!

Oh yes one other thing, since Assad, in a wonderful Charlie Rose interview said "Syria will do whatever is necessary" if the U. S. attacks Syria, Obama will do nothing. Obama is a coward first and foremost!

OMG......The vaunted Syrian military might hurt us! Wow, where is Winston Churchill or Harry Truman when you need them?

Again we should bomb the crap out of targets in Libya, Iran, and Syria at 12:01 AM tomorrow.....9/11. Eventually we will have boots on the ground there we might as well soften the targets.

How did he say it, something like....If you like your current insurance you will be able to keep it, you won't be affected. Ask those folks from IBM and a few others that now have a set amount in a HCRA and have to get their insurance through one of the exchanges and not the group rates and shared cost they previously enjoyed. Congress and their staff will get their 75% supplement although the original bill doesn't allow a supplement at their income levels.

Enjoy the honeymoon rates since once the marriage is consummated in 2015-16 you will be saying this is the f.....g I get for buying that BS. A lot of seniors need to support the McDonald's folks wanting $15 an hour and those seniors need to practice saying "do you want fries with that?" You will need to work somewhere.

Don't know source but it says it well.......................

It shapes up like this.... We're going to be "gifted" with a health care plan we are forced to purchase or be fined if we don't, which purportedly covers at least ten million more people, without adding a single new doctor, but provides for 16,000 new IRS agents, who have recently demonstrated their objective and professional integrity; written by a committee whose chairman says he doesn't understand it, passed by a Congress that didn't read it but exempted themselves from it, and signed by a President who smokes, with funding administered by a treasury chief who didn't pay his taxes, for which we'll be taxed for four years before any benefits take effect, by a government which has already bankrupted Social Security, Medicare, Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, and the Post Office and now the PPAHCA will be financed by a country that's broke!!!!!

How could it possibly fail?

Syria stuff boring. Those sand savages in the Middle East have been fighting for centuries in fact firing 100 cruise missles on targets in Syria would probably provide an "improvement" to the appearance of the area.

Changing the subject to local news I will ask the panel a question:

Considering the UAW's so called "partnership" with VW....when the UAW approaches a company about unionization, isn't it very much like a mafia shakedown for protection money? Inquiring minds want to know your answers please!

Fairmon wrote: "How did he say it, something like....If you like your current insurance you will be able to keep it, you won't be affected."

Sir, I have pointed out several times that the statement only applies to those who have total choice in the health insurance plans that they have.

"Ask those folks from IBM and a few others that now have a set amount in a HCRA and have to get their insurance through one of the exchanges and not the group rates and shared cost they previously enjoyed."

That was the choice of their employer. When this all shakes out, employers will be scrambling to augment the cost of health care, especially if they lose a bunch of employees.

"Congress and their staff will get their 75% supplement although the original bill doesn't allow a supplement at their income levels."

You're getting there, but you still have some of the facts incorrect. The supplement was always there for Congress. The bill inadvertently failed to provide supplemental payments for Congressional staff.

"Enjoy the honeymoon rates since once the marriage is consummated in 2015-16 you will be saying this is the f.....g I get for buying that BS."

Three weeks...then all will be revealed.

"A lot of seniors need to support the McDonald's folks wanting $15 an hour and those seniors need to practice saying "do you want fries with that?" You will need to work somewhere."

Seniors will not need ObamaCare. They will continue to have Medicare.

The rest of your post was filled with so many untruths that have been repeated so many times, that there is no need to address them for the umpteenth time.

But don't let that stop you from flapping those chicken wings for the next three weeks.

For two years, the nation has waited for the Republicans to ride those horses in and save the day.

To date, nothing has been proposed that even proposes to be better than ObamaCare.

In three weeks, there are going to be a great many Republicans and their cheerleaders with egg all over their faces.
