School bus driver receives citation after collision sent students to the hospital

A school bus driver is receiving a citation for following too closely after a crash Tuesday morning resulted in 11 students getting transported to a local hospital with minor injuries, according to Chattanooga police.

The bus driver, identified by police as David Kimbro, 62, rear ended a Ryder truck at a red light at 8:37 a.m. in the 6500 block of Bonny Oaks Drive. He told police that he was monitoring a disturbance on the bus when the collision happned.
