Waterhouse adds digital PR director

Waterhouse Public Relations has expanded its digital capabilities with the addition of Louise Elliott as director of digital public relations.

Elliott will focus on broadening Waterhouse PR's offerings in social media marketing, digital strategy, reputational search and digital measurement and analysis. She brings experience in e-commerce, digital public relations and marketing, social media and online reputation management.

Prior to joining Waterhouse PR, Elliott worked on national client campaigns for Walmart.com, Graco and Fisher-Price, as well as with local brands, including Lynksey Performance Bikes, the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce. Elliott earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication with an emphasis in digital journalism from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Founded in 1992, Waterhouse Public Relations is Chattanooga's largest public relations firm. The agency serves local, regional, national and international clients with an extensive array of communications and marketing services.


Barret to head Tennessee AIPG

Jeb Barrett, a professional geologist with Marion Environmental since 2006, is the new president-elect of the Tennessee section of American Institute of Professional Geologists, the largest association dedicated to promoting geology as a profession. It presently has more than 6,000 members in the U.S. and abroad, organized into 36 regional Sections. The Institute adheres to the principles of professional responsibility and public service. It is the only international organization that certifies the competence and ethical conduct of geological scientists in all branches of the sciences.

Separately, Marion Environmental also announced that Mike James, a sales representative since 2002, is a new member of the executive board of the American Red Cross of Southeast Tennessee. James has worked to expand Marion's industrial and emergency response departments, and also will work to enhance Red Cross's mission.


aQQolade offers workshops

A newly formed executive leadership and communications company will begin a series of workshops in Chattanooga and Alexandria, Va., next month.

aQQolade announced the open registration for their seminars, which are scheduled from Oct. 20 through Nov. 13.

"Managers moving up in their companies or executives looking to polish their leadership skills will find these workshops -- taught by some of the nation's top leadership experts -- invaluable for career development" said aQQolade President Robert J. Dragone.

The courses will emphasize development in four areas: communications, leadership, information management, and cultural adaptation. They will be facilitated by instructors with decades of experience in business, government, and academia. Among them are Mike Mears, founder of the CIA Leadership Academy, launcher of 11 start-up companies and former senior vice president with GE Investments, and Ann Timmons, former assistant professor at American University, accomplished playwright and director, and public-speaking and speech writing coach.

Chambliss hires administrator

Drawing on more than 20 years of professional experience in a diverse spectrum of fields, Tony B. Young has been hired by Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel to oversee the general business operations at the firm.

Throughout his career working with midsized private equity-backed manufacturing and media companies, he has managed mergers, acquisitions and Chapter 11 proceedings, along with adeptly working with companies in declining or evolving industries. His areas of expertise lie in operational and project management, financial analysis, process improvement and leadership development.

Baker Donelson adds Prince

Baker Donelson has added Melanie Prince to its law firm.

An associate in the firm's advocacy department, she assists clients in general business-related matters.

Prior to joining Baker Donelson, Prince served for four years as a judicial clerk with the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Tennessee, first as a clerk for U.S. District Judge Harry S. Mattice Jr. and most recently as a clerk for U.S. Magistrate Judge Susan K. Lee.

A 2009 graduate of the University of Tennessee College of Law, Prince was the student materials editor for the Tennessee Law Review. She is a member of the Tennessee Bar Association.
