DULUTH, Ga. — Officials at Emory University say the Dalai Lama is expected to make a visit to the Atlanta area next month.

School officials said Wednesday that the Dalai Lama is scheduled to participate in two public discussions Oct. 8 with Emory Faculty about responsible citizenship, ethics and education. The discussions are being hosted at the Arena at Gwinnett Center in Duluth.

Emory officials say Director of the university's Center for Ethics, Paul Wolpe, will moderate a morning discussion titled "Pillars of Responsible Citizenship in the 21st Century Global Village."

Scientists and other scholars are expected to host a discussion during the afternoon titled "Secular Ethics in Education."
