Georgia State Patrol: 18-year-old dies after I-75 wreck

A tire blowout left an 18-year-old Dallas, Ga., resident dead Friday afternoon, according to the Georgia State Patrol.

Jarrett Lee Williams was traveling south on Interstate 75 in a red Suzuki Sidekick about 4:42 p.m. when his rear driver-side tire blew out, the state patrol said in a news release. Williams jerked the wheel of the car, and it spun out of control and off the road.

The driver's side of the car struck a tree, and Williams died at the scene.

Williams was wearing a seat belt and alcohol was not a factor, police said.
