BLUE RIDGE, Ga. - The North Georgia Health District will be offering drive-by flu shots from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at the Farmers Market in Blue Ridge, according to a news release.
Regular flu vaccine costs $22; high-dose vaccine for people 65 and older is $50. Cash, checks, Medicare, Medicaid and Aetna, BlueCross/Blue Shield, state Cigna and state United Healthcare Insurance will be accepted.
The Cherokee County Health Department will have a drive-by shot clinic from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Woodstock Health Center on North Main Street in Woodstock, Ga.
Gilmer County's clinic is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Oct. 3 at First United Methodist Church of Ellijay.
CHATTANOOGA - T-Mobile, Target, Aid and Assist at Home, and AlliedBarton Security Services are among 15 employers who will be at the Hamilton County Job Fair on Tuesday, a news release states.
The Tennessee Career Centers and Rep. JoAnne Favors, D-Chattanooga, are sponsoring the fair. It starts at 10 a.m. at Olivet Baptist Church Kingdom Center, 730 E. M.L. King Blvd.

FORT PAYNE, Ala. - Enough of a crowd showed up to learn about Alabama's new gun law last week that another session is being set up, DeKalb County, Ala., Sheriff Jimmy Harris said in a news release.
The session to learn about Alabama's permit and concealed-carry laws is set for 6 p.m. CDT Oct. 3 at the Sylvania High School lunchroom.
Harris said about 100 people showed up for the first meeting at the Dogtown Fire Department.
CARTERSVILLE, Ga. - State mowing crews will be at work on county highways in North Georgia this week, according to a news release.
Workers will be mowing state Routes 52 and 282 in Gilmer County and SR 136 in Walker County today through Thursday. Hours are 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., weather permitting.
GADSDEN, Ala. - Banned books at the Gadsden Public Library will be taken from behind yellow caution tape and will be available to bookworms beginning today.
Gadsden State University library director Dusty Folds said 400 books were removed from the school's shelves, but could be checked out by visitors who were asked why they wanted them.
