Reservations for Chattanooga History Center's eighth annual History Makers Luncheon will be accepted starting Tuesday, Oct. 1. This year's award honors the legacy of the McCallie family.

The award recognizes local individuals or groups who have made significant contributions to the city, region, state or country.

Past honorees include Ruth Holmberg, the Rev. Paul McDaniel and Dalton Roberts; Mr. and Mrs. Jack T. Lupton and the Lyndhurst Foundation; participants in the Howard High School student-led sit-ins of 1960; the legacy of the William E. Brock Sr. family; leaders of Chattanooga Venture and Vision 2000; and the legacy of Mose and Garrison Siskin.

The award, represented by an original sculpture by Cessna Decosimo, will be presented at a luncheon scheduled 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6, at the Chattanooga Convention Center, 1 Carter Plaza. Typically a sellout, the luncheon is the Center's only operations fundraiser of the year.

Individual tickets are $65. Table sponsorships also are available. For information, call 423-265-3247.
