Understanding the South and other letters to the editors

Understanding the South

I am writing concerning a letter in the paper by Brother Ron Fender who was denouncing homophobia that is rampant in many churches in our area. I have known Brother Ron since he came to Chattanooga to work with the homeless so very effectively several years ago. I was honored to be a host in his first homeless shelter in Chattanooga, so I know first hand of his dedication to those who have nothing. He spoke of Pastor Brian Cosby’s editorial which compared gays to alcoholics and demonstrated little understanding of problems they face for a lifestyle they were assigned by their maker. I have lived more than 90 years in the South and understand this “Bible thumping” that determines our region, but let’s look at the basics that Jesus taught; demonstrate nonjudgment and love for all mankind: cloth the naked, feed the hungry, minister to the sick, and visit the imprisoned. Love trumps dogma.

FRANCIS A. GREEN, D.D.S., Chickamauga, Ga.

Ramsey wrong about Syria

Andy Sher’s article entitled “Ron Ramsey: No apologies for controversial 9/11 tweet” introduces an interesting new perspective on the Syria issue.

Most of the debate thus far has been focused on whether America should involve itself in the national affairs of foreign countries, but Ramsey claims that the rebels are not worth assisting in the first place — that the rebels are “our enemies who continue to hate our country from afar as they kill Christians in their own country.”

But Ramsey’s claim that America should be enemies with the Syrian rebels based on religious reasons would, if taken into practice, be a clear violation of past Supreme Court decisions that prevent America from favoring any religion.

Not only is Ramsey’s position appalling from a humanistic standpoint, his reasoning is politically faulted.

Make comics bigger

Have been meaning to write since “Odessa,” the dog available at the McKamey Animal Center, was printed. That was such a touching and beautiful photo. Congratulations to Tim Barber and all the other staff photographers you have.

Another thing, could you please make the comics a little larger. We “old” people have trouble reading them and we need a laugh.

Work hard, enjoy life

Your guest columnist, Roger Smith, appears to be a more palatable conservative, at least to the many local social conservatives. He, unofficially I suppose, seems to be writing a series of attacks on “lefties.” I would like to take some credit for him not automatically calling every prominent spokesman of the Left a “commie” although he impugns as hard as he feels he can get away with. He needs to be careful. The founder of the John Birch Society called Dwight Eisenhower a communist and was laughed at. He cautions against being like his non-voting friend who desires to “work hard, enjoy life and (expire).” That doesn’t sound so bad to me. I have a brother who, surrounded by siblings on the left and right, prefers not to vote as he disagrees with both views. I might mock him if he wasn’t so intelligent. A question I have pondered for a long time is: Why are those on the “hard right” so miserable? Work hard and enjoy life!

Tax laws favor wealthy

Nothing defines the American political psyche more than the fact that we don’t like to pay taxes. Our founding fathers’ mantra was “no taxation without representation.” They really meant “No taxation, period!” No campaign rhetoric gets more votes today than a promise to lower taxes.

Ironically, middle income Americans who pay substantial income and sales taxes will readily support cuts in income, capital gains and estate taxes for millionaires who need them the least. They approve theses reductions even though it might cause their own taxes to increase. They are also easily persuaded that we desperately need “tax relief” (George W.’s terminology), even though our tax rate is the third lowest in the developed world and the absolute lowest among the wealthiest nations. The American middle class has been taken in.

But we come by this anti-tax mystique honestly, it traces back to our roots. A nation founded on a tax revolt, Americans seem to have a natural “aversion” not only to taxes, but to government in general.

Possibly due to a psychological phenomenon called “last place aversion,” throughout our history our tax policies have mostly favored entrenched wealth over the average American. We need to rethink some things.

More doctors refuse Medicare

There seems to be a “we are not accepting Medicare patients” club among some of our private physicians at present. Even though I have a supplement insurance, I have been refused by at least four physician offices in one week.

So, I suppose medicare recipients who do not already have a physician will have to join the long line of patients at the health centers. If you have a physician — pray that they won’t leave office, retire or pass away, because your Medicare coverage may not be accepted by some offices.

FRANCIS A. GREEN, D.D.S., Chickamauga, Ga, you revealed your contempt for God’s word, the word of truth, the truth you and Ron Fender will be judged by with your “Bible thumping” remark.

Homosexuality is clearly condemned in God’s word the word of truth (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Ron Fender is a false teacher an apostate (Jude).

conservative, you revealed that you don't know much about the teachings of Jesus.
Also, consider this from Corinthians: "If I talk with the tongues of men and even of angels, but if I do not love people, then I am only like the sound of a big horn or a loud bell."
1 Corinthians 13.

Conservative, like his buddy Orr, is a contemptuous little blowhard, a mental cretin, drinking from the well of poisoned dogma. He does his best to infect everyone with his Biblical plauge of ignorance.

Dr. Green, your letter of support for actions taken to show love to others riles Conservative as he has no love to show, only contempt and misery at his impotent life living on the bitter swill of hate.

He's useful to show a good example of Biblical dementia and regular readers find his antics highly amusing. He's a anachronistic Inquisitor whose depravity is only surpassed by his sadistic tendencies to destroy any joy others may find.

He's a sad little man, alone in his mental prison of seething hate for himself.

Moonkat:

You got me interested.

You stated “conservative, you revealed that you don't know much about the teachings of Jesus.”

I stated the truth, No?

How could sharing the truth to prevent someone from going to hell not be love?

Here's Conservative on TV. Notice how few words it takes to sum up his Christian "love."

Are Bible-Thumpers crazy by themselves or did God make them that way?

So, so, so...'Now let me see here...I was born with a heterosexual gene that I choose to express 'said gene' by my lifestyle. Hummm, some obese people were born with the obese gene which they choose to express through their lifestyle. Homosexual people have a homosexual gene which they choose to express through their lifestyle.

Now, wait a minute! What if I wanted to have a whole lot of adulterous (extremely sinful) relationships because I was drawn to women...since I do have my 'heterosexual gene'. Naah!,,,I choose to not express my natural attraction to multiple females by NOT living a chosen lifestyle that would express that 'sinful' gene.

You sad, blaming, not accepting responsibility, or, accountability individuals. 'The Devil made me do it'...'They made me do it'...'uh, oh, uh, 'It's his fault', 'It's her fault', 'I mean, uh, oh yeah, uh...'It's the gene, remember?' So what if I did choose to eat too much to cause the predisposition to be expressed? I just can't help it. Yeah right! Go tell it to an infant.

Orr, does the devil make you lie? Does the devil make you a fraud? Or is it that you're a liar and fraud all on your own?

Is your continual deceit pathological, genetic, or just your lifestyle choice?

Since you enjoy making up credentials, fake employment history, jokes about people dying from AIDS, and stories about your career as a sought-after campaign manager, do you have no shame?

Are you a sociopath or merely mentally disturbed?

You know, The Book of Psalms declares...Psalm 111:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do His commandments: His praise endureth for ever."

and, The Book of Wisdom (Proverbs) declares...Proverbs 1:7 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction."

Proverbs 9:10 "The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of The Holy is understanding."

Truly, it is not so difficult to contribute positively to society/humanity. It indeed is much easier than only being a proponent of the 'Three C's': COMPLAINER, CONDEMNER, CRITICIZER. That's easy to do. That characteristic of being a proponent of the three C's helps certain individuals feel more (FALSE) self-value. Those of the three C's Club have usually never done a thing for others, have never contributed positively to society/humanity, realize they are parasites on society (in effect), and qualify as underachievers who in addition are mean, spiteful, hateful.

I will gladly furnish my Library of Congress Copyright Registration number to anyone who requests same. I have not lied. I believe the Holy Spirit Inspired, Biblical Scriptures above. I fear Jesus Christ with a Loving, Respectful, Honorable and Reverential fear...I have not lied. +(:>

Orr, you lied about your scientific credentials (you have none). You lied about your credentials as a Mental Health Therapist (you have none). You lied about "the movers and shaker in Tennessee pleading with you to be a campaign manager (never happened). You lied about making up jokes about people dying with AIDS.

One only needs to read all your incredible lies and deceit by viewing your history on this site.

Why does your religion make you lie? Is fraud a part of your faith? Are you ashamed of your deceit?

Why can you not present your scientific and mental health therapist credentials? You said you have. You said you would present them. You said you would answer questions about them

But you haven't. Why?

Everyone knows why, Orr. You don't have them. All you have is a delusional mind due to your impotence and failures in life to be anything other than a religious blowhard.

You been exposed as a liar, fraud, and scoundrel.

Are you seeking therapy for your pathological lies?

Dear Daytonsdarwin

This is only a friendly test You may want to utilize to discover Your aptitude regarding 1. Hamilton County and 2.State of Tennessee Government.\

This will also serve to inform You of some of the Dignitaries (very honorable individuals) who gave me the 'go ahead' on the challenge of entering the race as a Federal Congressional Campaign Manager.

If You cannot identify any of the initials I shall furnish You, please do not feel ashamed. Only know that we all have a long way to go in becoming the person we aspire to become.

I would never give out the names of the Dignitaries my Candidate and I met with personally. But, once again, if You have any 'Civic Minded' capabilities/involvements in Your life's history, then You will know of these exceptionally effective individuals). Yes, they are known as the 'Movers and Shakers' who have positively affected Your and our lives.

Who are they Daytonsdarwin?.....Can You tell me/us who they are?

C.E.P. (Nick name begins with an 'S'). He was the first to challenge me/us and give me the 'go ahead'. His Wife was at the meeting...she will be glad to tell You. He is exalted and revered in all levels of Tennessee Government!

B.W. Tennessee State Government. We met with him several times. He let us know of the probably insurmountable odds against us, but, gave me/us the 'go ahead'.

L.H. True Statesman. Gave me/us the 'go ahead'.

F.D. Billions of Dollars under management, if not a personal billionaire himself, gave me/us the 'go ahead' challenge.

B.C.(Tennessee State & Fed. Govt.) through my Candidate (I was in the room (meeting), but he directed his 'go ahead' to my Candidate.)

L.A. (Tennessee State & Fed. Govt.)in same meeting with us as B.C. also approved and gave the challenge.

If You don't recognize any of these initials, again, even though it speaks volumes about Your current 'civic mindedness', don't feel ashamed, there is still time for You to change.

More lies, Orr. More fraud. Have you no shame?

Have your "contacts" write letters and post them here. Have them say that they asked you to be the campaign manager, that they endorsed your candidate. It's really quite simple.

What's that? They won't write letters? They won't endorse you? They won't say that they backed you? Well, how about that. I guess we just have to take your word on it.

But the problem, Orr, is everyone knows what your word is worth — nada, zip, zero.

Still waiting for your science and mental health therapist credentials.

Please included those ringing endorsements in writing. And get signed photographs from Bigfoot and ET while you're at it. Keep your attache case with the nuclear codes handy in case the Joint Chiefs-of-Staff need to reach you.

Hi daytonsdarwin

With truest love to You through Jesus Christ and honor to You I must say: 'I did not, in any way, in any sense of the word, realistically expect You to recognize any of the Dignitaries initials which I furnished You. Yes, You are a bonefied, certified Member of the 'Three C's Club'...1. Condemn... 2. Complain...Criticize. You are not, I humbly believe, totally to blame. You (outside of Your supreme ability with humor))do not possess any capacity to do much else but Complain, Condemn, and Criticize. Often, I have thought that You and (Screen Name)Easy123 are the same person. I have had independent people look at the answers I have furnished You regarding the questions (proof) You ask. They know I have satisfactory answered Your questions many times over. I usually would not invest time with people like You, but, I do want to Win You Daytonsdarwin to our Family of Faith. You do possess much value in the spiritual realm, I think You know what I mean.

Please don't be ashamed that You don't know anybody who has made a great showing in this life (except probably Your Parents and Family Members, and some of Your other loved ones). You have not seen Your 'Best Days' yet!

Love to You and Yours in Jesus Christ,

Ken ORR

Again Orr, you never answered the questions, shown your credentials, and have been caught in yet another lie and fraud.

Take five minutes. List your credentials. Pretend (and you're an expert at that) it's a simple job application. List your scientific and mental health therapist credentials. You should be able to reell them off.

Everyone I know that went to university, has a Masters or PhD can quickly tell you when, where, what years, what their field of studies were, where they worked — they're pleased to be able to tell you. But why can't you?

Everyone knows why. You have none. Why would you lie?

You simply can not help yourself from lying. That's a pathological condition. Do you not realize that all who see your posts realize you're a liar and fraud? Do you honestly think anyone believes that "movers and shakers" would endorse you having seen your mental condition?

Shame on you. Shame on you for involving people in your lies and fraud.

When will you stop lying?
