Hamilton County Sheriff's Office gets $1 million grant to add school resource officers

Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond has announced receiving notification from U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander's Office that the sheriff's department will get a $1 million grant to provide eight more school resource officers in county schools.

A news release said the money comes from a U.S. Department of Justice Community Oriented Police (C.O.P.S.) Grant.
