Lee University's Department of Language and Literature is offering free English language classes to the community through Nov. 14. Held at the English Language Center in the Vest Building on the Lee campus in Cleveland, Tenn., classes meet from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday and are specifically designed for beginning to low-intermediate English learners.

"The English Language Center is a wonderful resource for adults in the community from all language backgrounds who wish to improve their English skills," said Christopher Blake, director of the ELC and assistant professor at Lee.

All instructors are trained in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, and they will work with students individually to address specific needs.

For more information about the ELC or to register for the course, contact Blake at cblake@leeuniversity.edu or by calling 423-614-8223.
