Murray County Sheriff's Deputy mauled by dog

CHATSWORTH, Ga. — A Murray County Sheriff's Deputy who was assigned to the animal control unit received medical treatment at the Murray Medical Center after being attacked by a dog.

Deputy Kevin Tankersley arrived at the Spring Lakes Gold Club Saturday around 2 p.m. after complaints came in about an aggressive dog chasing people at the golf course.

The Murray County Sheriff's Office tells Channel 3 before Tankersley was able to get the equipment needed for capturing the dog, the canine severely mauled him.
