Equity strategist will speak at Chattanooga Area Leadership Prayer Breakfast

Bob Doll, former president and chief investment officer at Merrill Lynch Investment Managers, will be the featured speaker at the 36th Chattanooga Area Leadership Prayer Breakfast.

Known for his annual economic predictions and a frequent guest on CNBC, Fox Business News and Bloomberg TV, Doll now is chief equity strategist and senior portfolio manager at Nuveen Asset Management.

For this year, Doll predicted that stocks would fall by 10 percent before recovering and being on the plus side by the end of the year. He also expects the U.S. economy to grow by about 3 percent. In a political prediction, he believes Republicans will increase their lead in the U.S. House in the upcoming midterm elections, but they will fall short of capturing the U.S. Senate.

The purpose of the event, according to its executive committee, is to "encourage morality and ethics in the lives of all people in positions of leadership in business, government and in professions."
