Cranford becomes Decosimo principal

David Cranford, a 25-year veteran in health care finances, has become a principal in the Decosimo accounting firm specializing in health care.

Cranford served as a senior manager in Decosimo health care practice prior to his appointment as a principal. Specializing in physician services and health care consulting, Cranford is dedicated in the areas of physician practice management, health care mergers and acquisition advisory and health care financial consulting -- including outsourced accounting, compensation modeling, due diligence and financial forecasting. He also provides expert witness testimony as litigation support in health care cases involving contractual disputes.

"David's expertise and leadership have been very instrumental in developing our firm's physician practice," said the firm's managing principal Nick Decosimo. "David has helped us establish our strong health care due diligence practice, and he has led complex projects that have made use of his vast experience in health care management."

Including Cranford, Decosimo has 40 active principals throughout the firm's nine office locations across Alabama, Georgia, Ohio, Tennessee and the Cayman Islands.

A graduate of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Cranford is a certified public accountant licensed in Tennessee, Georgia, Alabama and California. He is a member of the National Association of Public Hospitals.


Godin promoted to VP at Unum

Gary Godin has been promoted to vice president of the Leave Management Center at Unum, which helps employers manage and administer federal and state regulations related to family and medical leaves as well as corporate leave policies. The center supports over 350 employers, covering more than 1.2 million employees across the country.

Godin will manage the day-to-day service while strategically aligning the business for the future. Godin will be looking at ways the company can further expand its leave management service through introducing new services and leveraging new technologies.

Godin joined Unum in 2007 and has led Unum's short term disability and group customer service organizations in Chattanooga. His professional background also includes health insurance, sales and investments.

Godin has a bachelor's degree in business administration from Tennessee Wesleyan College and a master's in business administration in finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.


FastSigns earns honors

FastSigns of Chattanooga, a locally owned and operated business, has received two awards including the Pinnacle Club Award, which is given to the centers ranked 26 to 125 in the United States and Canada for sales volume from the previous year, and the Million Dollar Award, which recognizes centers who reach a new $1 million milestone in total sales.

Mitchell named care coordinator

John L. Kerns, owner and president of Preferred Care at Home, has named Leslie Mitchell to the position of care coordinator.

Mitchell brings over 30 years of clinical and administrative experience, culled from a variety of roles, to the company. "In many ways, Leslie is the perfect person for this position. She has an affable personality, a vast wealth of knowledge and clearly is a dynamic leader," Kerns said,

Mitchell's three decades of experience includes years as a registered nurse in hospitals, administrative positions in skilled nursing facilities and marketing roles at several organizations.

Mitchell will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day delivery of care to the company's clients and will lead a staff of over fifty care providers, manage quality control, client relations and staff evaluations.


Tennessee Oncology adds Golder

Tennessee Oncology, one of the largest physician-owned practices in the country, has added Stephen Golder, M.D., to the team as a radiation oncologist. He will care for patients at the Sarah Cannon Cancer Center at Parkridge Medical Center where he has been the medical director for eight years. Dr. Golder has also served as chairman of the facility's cancer committee.

Before coming to Tennessee, he treated patients at Radiation Oncology Centers, a long-established community based practice in Florida. He has a special interest in prostate cancer with approximately 25 years of experience in transperineal ultrasound guided prostate seed implantation.

Dr. Golder graduated from the University of Florida College of Medicine. He completed a rotating oncology internship as well as a radiation oncology residency in the Division of Radiation Therapy at Shands Teaching Hospitals and Clinics in Gainesville, Fla., where he was chief resident.


Borski joins Einstein Bros.

Alisha Borski has been appointed the catering and business development manager for the new Einstein Bros. Bagels Chattanooga area franchise. The franchise is owned by Hole Foods LLC, based in Cleveland, Tenn. The company opened its first unit on East Brainerd Road last fall and has announced plans to develop up to five additional Einstein Bros. Bagels stores.

Borski is a Chattanooga native with more than 15 years experience in promotional sales and restaurant catering. Formerly with Tent Restaurant Management, she recently served as an account executive for the Chattanooga Times Free Press, representing the newspaper's Dining Out publication.

In her new position, Borski will be responsible for the management and development of outside catering, brand awareness and public relations. She will also direct catering operations for the planned future locations of the company.
