Chattanooga Locomotion, a women’s full-contact football team, will open its 2014 season on Saturday, April 12, against the Huntsville Tigers.

Now in its 14th season, the Locomotion is a member of the Independent Women’s Football League.

Games are played at 7 p.m. at Red Bank High School, 640 Morrison Springs Road.

Other home games this season are May 3 against the Carolina Queens and May 31 and June 7, both against Carolina Phoenix. Playoffs start in late June.

Team owner Cheryl Jacobs says that for Saturday’s game, the team is partnering with the Children’s Advocacy Center of Hamilton County as part of National Child Abuse Awareness Month.

Tickets are $10 for adults, free for children 8 and younger with a paying adult. Season tickets are $35.
