Smokies beat Lookouts 5-1

KODAK, Tenn. — Rafael Lopez began a four-run seventh inning with a leadoff double that propelled the Tennessee Smokies to a 5-1 win over the visiting Chattanooga Lookouts in Southern League baseball Saturday night.

Wes Darvil, Anthony Gianzanti and Zeke DeVoss followed with Smokies hits that chased Chattanooga relief pitcher Juan Ramon Noriega from the game and gave him the loss. The Lookouts had taken a 1-0 lead in the third inning when Andres Santiago led off a double and scored on a triple by Noel Cuevas, but the Smokies got even in the fourth.

Garrett Gould (0-1, 3.38 ERA) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Lookouts' in today's 2 p.m. game. Matt Loosen (0-1, 5.40) is set to go for Tennessee.
