Eastdale hosts meet, greet

Democratic candidates will meet and talk with voters tonight at the Eastdale Youth and Family Development Center, 1312 Moss Drive.

The event begins at 6 p.m. Hosts are Hamilton County Democratic Party board members Joe Ramsey and Demetres Coonrod.

Crangle fundraiser set

Tommy Crangle, Republican candidate for the District 27 House seat, will hold a campaign kickoff and fundraiser at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Red Bank Community Center.

Many current and former Republican officeholders are expected to be present, including Richard Floyd, who is stepping down from the seat, according to a news release.

A donation of $25 per person is suggested. Contributions are appreciated but not required, the release states.

DesJarlais heads to Jasper

U.S. Rep. Scott DesJarlais will campaign Wednesday in Jasper, according to a news release from the Marion County Republican Party.

The South Pittsburg physician is seeking re-election in the 4th Congressional District. He faces a primary challenge from state Sen. Jim Tracy, R-Shelbyville.

He will be at the Dutch Maid Bakery, 29 Courthouse Square, at 8 a.m. CDT.

Democrats set meet and greet

Democratic candidates will meet and talk with voters from 5 to 8 p.m. April 28 at the Red Bank Community Center, according to a news release.

Party executive committee members from County Commission districts 2 and 6 are hosting the event, and Democratic candidates at the county, state and national level have been invited. Light refreshments will be served.
