Meet Democratic candidates today
John Allen Brooks, who is seeking to represent District 6 on the Hamilton County Commission, and Eric McRoy, candidate for House District 27, will meet with voters from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the Red Bank Community Center on Tom Weathers Road behind Erlanger North.
The event is presented by the District 2 and District 6 Democratic Executive Committee members and the Hamilton County Democratic Party.

Thomas to kickcampaign off
Jackie Thomas, Democratic candidate for the District 5 seat on the Hamilton County Board of Education, will hold a campaign kickoff from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at The Office, 1402 E. Third St.

Martin launching campaign May 13
District 3 school board member Greg Martin will kick off his re-election campaign from 6 to 7:30 p.m. May 13 at Creeks Bend Golf Course.
Martin replaced Everett Fairchild on the board in 2012 and is seeking election to his first full term.
District 3 includes Hixson, Lakesite, Middle Valley and Big Ridge.

Perkins endorsedby Rock City FOP
Perry Perkins, Republican candidate for County Commission District 7, said he has been endorsed by Rock City Lodge No. 22 of the Fraternal Order of Police.
Perkins said he also has been endorsed by the Chattanooga Fire Fighters Association and the International Brotherhood of Police Officers.
Manuel wins poll held by Tea Party
Joe Manuel said he won a recent straw poll held by the Chattanooga Tea Party.
Manuel is a candidate for Hamilton County chancellor Part 1. He said he has been endorsed by seven former Hamilton County Republican Party chairmen as well as the International Brotherhood of Police Officers.
Early voting continues through Thursday
Hamilton County residents can continue early voting in the May 6 primary election through Thursday at:
• Brainerd Rec Center, 1010 N. Moore Road, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Eastwood Church, 4300 Ooltewah-Ringgold Road, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Election Commission, 700 River Terminal Road, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
• Northgate Mall, in location between Old Navy and Belk, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Thursday.
