The westbound lane of the 8600 block of East Brainerd Road will close at 7 p.m. tonight and remain closed until 6 a.m. Saturday for a water line repair project, the Chattanooga Transportation Department said in a news release.
Westbound traffic will be detoured north on Morris Hill Road, west on Igou Gap Road and south on Grays Road to Jenkins, then back to East Brainerd Road,
The release advised motorists to be careful when approaching the intersection of East Brainerd, Hurricane Creek and Morris Hill roads, because the traffic pattern on the approaches has changed.
