Man seriously injured after fall from rope swing

A 28-year-old man was seriously hurt today when he fell about 12 feet from a rope swing and hit rocks instead of water at Pocket Wilderness at the foot of Mowbray Mountain.

He was carried out of the wilderness area and taken to the hospital shortly after 11 p.m. The 911 call was made at 3:30 p.m. and the Mowbray Volunteer Fire Department called for backup. Hamilton County EMS personnel entered the woods at 4 p.m. and made contact with the patient at 5 p.m., said spokeswoman Amy Maxwell.
