Maybe If that imbecile G.W. Bush and his scumbag, chickenhawk, lying cronies had never put boots on the ground to begin with there would be no need today. They destroyed Iraq and left behind a mess for someone else to clean up. Their invasion of Iraq created the clusterf@ck that is the Middle East today. If President Obama is to be blamed for anything concerning Iraq, it's that he allowed everyone of those scumbags who led this country to war to walk away without a single charge as war criminals.

WHAAA..WHAAA..WAHAAAA...

No, ibshame, there was no chance of that, ever. Then you should bitch about Kerry and Hillary backing it as well. Toss in both Houses and the UN.

BO deserves to be blamed for a whole hell of a lot.

Nation building is a really bad idea. We should have never gone in there, but blame your precious Democrats as well.

The middle east has always been a hell hole and unstable, thanks to to extremist Islam. We have no business being in that mess, but it was created long before we were around.

We should go after terrorists though. ISIS is the world's problem, and the world should get together and wipe them out, not just us.

Hillary will really have it made. She will be able to blame both BHO and GWB If ISIS or other terrorist don't strike in the U.S. before she is in office. She can just can say it wasn't her fault. She can say GWB started it and BHO quit before completing the job.

Obama is a great speaker using a teleprompter. He has the unique ability to speak at length saying nothing and doing less.

He is joined by his loyal staff and supporters across the country in not having a clue about what to do. Could the answer be sending in 130,000 troops from concerned countries instead of only 130 U.S?

Does laissez faire light describe his foreign policy? A similar approach with domestic policies would improve the economy at a better rate? He rather vacation, play golf and play a noise bopper game with social issues than wrestle with foreign policy issues.

What does it say about this country when we have her and BO back to back in the WH?

It says overall we're stupid, lazy and just want to be taken care of.

The middle least is what was once considered nothing more than northern Africa, carved out, like Kuwait was once Iraq carved out by the British and called a country. Pakistan once india carved out by British and called Pakistan. So on and so forth in preparation for war and more wars and rumors of wars to come.

Then why did you insinuate the middle east & north Africa only became war like after the British and others were involved? The truth is they were doing the same thing as today except they are now using bigger and more deadly weapons.

The British did attack and try to gain control of America but there was no successful occupation thanks to some very proud people that preferred fighting to their death rather than a loss of freedom and liberty to a king and his tyranny from which they had fled. It makes one wonder if those now so dependent and susceptible to promises of baubles from a government would have the same degree of commitment. We have evolved from an initial desire for a very limited government to demands for an ever larger and more controlling government. The nation of laws now has so many laws on the books they cannot provide an accurate count of just how many as federal, state and local legislatures crank out more daily.

Obama and you weak kneed useful idiot Democrats made a HUGE mistake in downsizing our troop force in the Middle East and closing down our large and very strategic military bases in Iraq and Afghanistan. Nice job today Clay. Bravo!

If anyone thinks for a minute that there aren’t ‘boots on the ground’ now, you are sadly mistaken. There are cadres of SPEC-OP’s, advisors—and military contractors running around right now. ”No Boots on the Ground?” Pffft – Pleeez.

In Washington’s ceaseless effort to outdo George Orwell, we are told 'we' are bombing Iraq to save it. We only use humanitarian bombs, they will save lives, and they will protect national interests (whose exactly is anyone’s guess). The intervention will be short, limited to airstrikes, no boots on the ground. Uh huh, yea sure. Time will tell, but if history is any indication, don’t for a minute think ‘precision’ bombing will meaningfully change the nature of the civil war(s) now linking Syria to Iraq, nor should we expect to learn the true extent of the intervention anytime soon; and don’t be surprised if it turns into something that was never advertised. You and I didn’t read the fine print... did we? OH that’s right. We’re not allowed to see the fine print!

We have yet to reconcile the costs, mistakes and crimes of a decade-long US occupation in Iraq, and yet we are starting another round. It is not just that Washington (not you and I) has failed to learn from the past or have forgotten to pay the piper. We haven’t even bothered to look at the last bill, much less pay the check.

”War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength.” ~George Orwell

Ceaseless escalation – never ending war.

Let's check the math. Social security and medical disability was approved retroactively and medical bills that could wipe out your wealth and had you on the brink of bankruptcy are now paid. Your dialysis, PT and other medical cost are now being paid. The statement that all social security and medical taxes paid in would last for years before you had drawn out an equal amount doesn't seem to reconcile with all bills now being paid and current.

People drawing from the Ponzi scheme welfare pool when you were paying in got your money. Your current welfare benefits are from those currently paying social security and medical taxes.

You're incorrect about Medicare. There is a 24 month waiting period from the date of approval for disability.

I stated that my medical bills have been settled. I did not state that they were paid by either Medicaid or Medicare.

"Your dialysis, PT and other medical cost are now being paid."

Again, you are incorrect. I am not currently on dialysis, my medical bills are not an issue at the moment as I am in research trials and all my medical care is free and I am paid every time I grace the doors of the medical facility.

"The statement that all social security and medical taxes paid in would last for years before you had drawn out an equal amount doesn't seem to reconcile with all bills now being paid and current."

Of course that is if you had the first clue what my current situation was re: my medical care, which you do not.

"People drawing from the Ponzi scheme welfare pool when you were paying in got your money."

While that may be technically true, I have in my possession an accounting from the Government that states what I have paid in over the years, and what I draw is based on that accounting, so I will defer to their figures if you don't mind, as you will when you reach that milestone, if you are not in fact already there.

Doing simple mathematics, I have determined that I will not reach the point where I am drawing money that I did not put in, for nine and a half years.

"Your current welfare benefits are from those currently paying social security and medical taxes"

Again, technically all true, but that is not my problem nor am I accountable to you for any of it. I paid in, handsomely, and I am ENTITLED to it today.

I am not one of those people who is not disabled and is faking this or that. I have documented illnesses and I went before an Administrative Judge and was approved without question.

I am neither proud nor ashamed for my being where I am at the moment, but no amount of right-wing or Libertarian bullsh!t is going to disturb me.

I would rather be to where I could work full-time and continue to earn what I am used to earning, but that is no longer possible.

Whatever the future holds for me, I will be just fine and so will my family. I have always been a saver and lived below my means.

Nope. You know damn well that I stated that so long as you continued to claim to be that man, that you could not be the one who went bankrupt.

Now that your identity has been somewhat altered or reversed if you will, you're back to being the Jack Dennis who filed for bankruptcy in your neck of the woods last year.

Why are all welfare programs considered "ENTITLEMENTS" by those receiving them? It is considered welfare because eligibility is systematically reduced based on income. Medicare rates go up for those above a certain annual income and benefits are reduced and taxed at higher rates based on annual income. Therefore, what one has "paid in" does not necessarily entitle them to participate based on what they paid in.

You are eligible for what you get if you haven't hidden income or assets but call it what it is. Waste, fraud, wars and entitlements are the bane of government budgets.

Whoa. Not all welfare programs should be considered entitlements. Social Security and Medicare are entitlements, IF one has paid into the system long enough to qualify for either.

"It is considered welfare because eligibility is systematically reduced based on income."

Which program are you referring to? I know you're not referring to Social Security or Medicare.

"Medicare rates go up for those above a certain annual income and benefits are reduced and taxed at higher rates based on annual income."

You're barking as if you disagree with that. If one is wealthy, don't you agree that they should pay a higher share of their medical expenses?

"Therefore, what one has "paid in" does not necessarily entitle them to participate based on what they paid in."

Again, which program are you referring to with this crap? I know what I paid into Social Security and I have yearly statements to prove it. The fact that the money is gone is not my problem or doing. I received credit for paying it all in and I am entitled to receive it all back and then some, if I should live long enough.

"You are eligible for what you get if you haven't hidden income or assets but call it what it is. Waste, fraud, wars and entitlements are the bane of government budgets."

I don't need to hide anything. A millionaire is entitled to draw their Social Security. The nature of my illnesses entitles me to disability and Medicare, but nothing else.

I pay my premiums for Part B & D coverage. Because I am end stage kidney disease, and because I live in the State of Georgia, I cannot purchase supplemental coverage.

For the next ten years, you don't get to call me a welfare recipient. In ten years, if we are both still around, I'll be happy to accede that point to you.

At some point people may become intelligent enough to understand the fairness and benefits of a consumption tax as outlined in the dead in committee fair tax proposals. The biggest fear would be a failure to eliminate other taxes, fees etc.

I stand by what I say, inq. No real man, or a real American, would vote for her. There's something deeply disturbing about someone who would actually cast a vote for that thing. BO won twice, which is disturbing enough, but to know as much as people do about Hillary, and still want her to be POTUS tells me how far gone we are as a nation.

People have no idea what a true statesman is, what made this country, and what government is for. They just simply vote for people who will give them the most stuff. That's the majority of the people in this country, in my opinion. If that weren't the case, then you wouldn't have BO in there, and the possibility of Hillary. Both parties have cultivated the leach mentality in this country.

Wrong, inq.

Has nothing to do with disagreeing, it has to do with slavish devotion to demagogues. Benjamin Franklin said that when people figure out that they can vote themselves money, or free stuff in today's world, then it will herald the end.

That's right, thing. That's a good way to describe her. It's one thing to be fooled, as in the case of BO, who has turned out to be a fraud. He came out of nowhere and gave a good speech, but it's quite another to see this evil narcissist and elitist coming from a mile away and still want her to be POTUS. You have to have a screw loose or be totally self-absorbed to vote for her.

August 18, 2014 at 10:55 a.m.

Other than voting for her in order to help her fulfill her ambitions, what other reason is there to vote for that thing?

We're supposed to vote for her because she looked the other way while Bubba got his rocks off? So, she's earned it? Good Lord, how pathetic can it get. Or, for the novelty of having a female president?

Or, it's time, just like it was time to have a black president? Never mind that he's a corrupt fraud and an anti-American. Let's check those two off of the list, we got the black out of the way, now a woman. What's next on the list, a "gay" man just for the sake of having a "gay" man in the WH. Or, what about a lesbian, a cross dresser or a satanist? Actually with BO we probably have our first pothead in the WH.

Jack Dennis What I like about Hillary is the fact Repubs hate her. Considering the fact the last time Repubs controlled the House of Reps, The senate, the White House and the USSC, they damn near destroyed this country with the invasion of Iraq which led to the deaths of over 4000 US soldiers, thousands maimed for life, the deaths of hundreds of thousands Iraqi citizens, served as a recruiting tool for Al Qaeda, and damn near totally bankrupted the US economy. Repubs don't deserve to ever be allowed total control of this country again. In any situation where they have been given that type of control things go bad most especially for the poor and middle class. If anyone wants proof of that all they have to do is look in their own backyard.

Tennessee is a prime example. There have been times when the Governors of this state were Repubs and there was a Democrat controlled legislature. The Dems were moderate Dems. It was Governor Don Sundquist, a Republican, who tried to push through a State Income Tax but his efforts were defeated by a Democrat controlled legislature. Lamar Alexander, a Republican, pushed through a merit pay for teachers with a Democrat controlled legislature. Today, Repubs like to brag about this now being a TOTAL RED state and what do we get for that so-called distinction? According to a recent report, Tennessee is now listed as the worst state in the union to live in.

Again, to answer your question it's really very simple: Repubs hate her. Why do they hate her?

Jack Dennis , you are totally correct when you say she voted FOR the war as a member of the US Senate. Here is the rub in that : She like the other members of Congress were fed LIES from Bush, Cheney, and all the rest of the scumbag, chickenhawk neo-cons, so they voted FOR what they thought at the time was best to keep THIS country SAFE. They used the information supplied to them by the Then President of the United States, G.W. Bush. The person MOST responsible for making sure the information he was giving them and the citizens of this country was accurate as possible was Bush. He DID NOT do that, instead he told lie after lie along with his cronies. They attempted to portray anyone who questioned their lies as traitors, UnAmerican, UnPatriotic, supporters of Bin Laden, and they used every tactic in the book from outting a CIA agent to illegal wiretaps.

Yes, Hillary did vote for the war as member of the US Senate based on the lies that were presented as facts by Bush and cronies. She knows now it was a mistake. Z; fister you are one stupid, dumbaa$$, ignorant inbred. I have never said Bush was smart enough to carry a bag of hammers to a shed. He was stupid enough to allow himself to be led into war by Cheney and the rest of the Neo-cons. Had he not been trying to show up his own FATHER he might not have been so weak . He was trying hard to show his father just how tough he was when it came to being President. He showed him alright. So let's get this straight, you don't have to be a genius to make a fool of yourself all you have to do is allow others to make a fool of you like you do every single day you listen to Drudge and then try to regurgitate that bullsh!t here .

Bush and company did the worst thing a "leader" is suppose to do: they took advantage of this country 's fear following 9/11. If you think that makes them " so smart" then you are sick. There was nothing smart about them using that to send over 4000 US soldiers to their deaths in a country that had zilch to do with 9/11. Only a real POS would think that was a smart move. I consider it to be a move by a bunch of COWARDS and anyone who cheered them on were also COWARDS.

If Hillary decides to run in 2016, she will win and there is zilch chumps like you will be able to do about it .

August 18, 2014 at 4:21 p.m.

I'm right on the mark, Gauss.

Who said McCain was a statesman or Romney?

I know a demagogue when I see one, though, and that's BO and Hillary.

The days of statesman, or citizen statesman, are pretty much gone. There's too much corruption, too much gov. and too many elitists calling the shots. Not sure if anyone can be called that anymore, but there a few in the GOP that give me hope, even though the party blows. Certainly no one in the leftist run Democrat Party.

Hillary and BO are frauds and the complete opposite of a statesman or a leader. They're greedy, corrupt, narcissistic, manipulators and demagogues. They both feel they're entitled.

It is too early to concede the nomination to Hillary and the DNC is not doing that. The more she reveals and promotes her book the more her poll numbers will drop. They are already down about 16% against some weak republican potentials. A democrat opponent has not had their name leaked yet but when they do the truth about her strength as a candidate will be known.

Her best chance is if people don't do their own vetting of her as a candidate and allow the media to decide for them. I would bet she would not have her husband selecting the young female aids. Can you imagine Bill as the first man of the WH with time on his hands and privacy? Of course he would need his own support staff.

Unfortunately how a candidate comes across on TV in appearance and speaking regardless of what is said has the most influence on the majority of voters. Neither is her strength, the best make up folks can't make her look good and they can't hide her two axe handles wide hips.

With Bush you voted for an imbecile, with McCain you voted for a senile war monger along with his ditzy running mate and with Romney you voted for an out of touch rich guy with magic underwear. As for the pickings left for Repubs in 2016: Christie is still under investigation; Perry has just been indicted, McConnell of VA. Is probably going to do some jail time with his wife; Walker, the Gov. Of Wisconsin is under investigation, Corker might as well forget it, Paul won't be able to win the crazies over, Rubio won't be able to capitalize on his Cuban heritage because of his immigration stand and last but not least Canadian born Ted Cruz is a joke.

In other words, if you have any proof whatsoever that I do not indeed monitor 30 political polls on a regular basis, please feel free to post it.

As it is, the polls I monitor have never let me down. I am not calling the 2016 Presidential election today, but if it were held today, Hillary would win in a landslide.

We all know that things can change. Hillary might just be caught in bed with a dead boy or live girl.

Short of that, the polls tell me that Hillary cannot be beat by anyone we currently know who might be entering the race for the Presidency.

If anyone has credible information to the contrary, by all means post it.

I know you don't have anything, Jackie. You're delving into issues where you simply just don't have the right color of crayons to write with.

There's no evidence that Hillary is intelligent at all, zero. Same as BO.

Give me examples of Hillary's brilliance? I can give you examples of Ben Carson's brilliance, he's neurosurgeon/brain surgeon, Rand Paul's briliance, he's a doctor, Mitt Romney was a accomplished business man, and helped to make the Winter Olympics in Salt Lake Profitbable, Ron Paul is a doctor. It takes brilliance to be a doctor, a successful businessman/leader, or an economist, like Thomas Sowell.

Give me examples of Hillary's brilliance. Abraham Lincoln was a brilliant man and a leader. George Washington was a leader, and Thomas Jefferson was a brilliant man. Hillary has just been given the title of brilliant by pajama boy pricks in the media.

You libs don't know the difference between a brilliant person and one who is promoted as one, and you don't know the difference between a demagogue and a statesman/leader.

I would consider voting for Chris Christie. I would not vote for any of the clowns that have been shown to be considering a run. Cruz, Paul, Rubio, Corker, or Romney. And anyone that would even consider voting for Rick Perry need to have their voting rights restricted.

Inquiringmind, It's a funny thing about history, when you don't pay attention to details of the past you will eventually screw up. Let's look at the out come of some wars that have been fought on the native soil of a country that has been invaded. We can start right here in the good ole USA. When the British began their push back against the colonists it was long after the majority of the colonists no longer considered themselves to be "loyal" British subjects. The Brits tried to regain control over them, the colonists revolted, the Brits invaded with HUGE military might and power but were defeated because the colonists were fighting on their own turf and the Brits were an invading army unfamiliar with the territory and the people.

Move forward a couple hundred years and this time it's the US doing the invading in a small country known as Vietnam. The country is unfamiliar territory as are the people of Vietnam. The military might and power of the US would indicate this would be an easy push back against the Communists of North Vietnam. However as it turns out that is not the case. The US loses over 500,000 US soldiers in a war that should never have been fought in the first place. In the end the US is defeated and the Communists claim ALL of Vietnam.

Move forward again in History, this time it's the mighty Russian Army and they invade a backwards country known as Afghanistan. They wage war for years in unfamiliar territory with unfamiliar people and again an army that is far superior to that of the native people of Afghanistan is defeated.

Now we come to another invasion by the US. This time it's in a country in the Middle East, Iraq. Again unfamiliar territory with unfamiliar people. Like Vietnam there will never be a true victory for the US. The best the US can do is keep the troops off the ground and out of Iraq before instead of over 4000 US soldiers needlessly losing their lives that number becomes 400,000.

Repubs better find themselves a new strategy other than waiting on her to self-destruct because while they are waiting, she will be leading Bubba by the hand back into the White House. Repubs should be trying to make sure Turdblossom Rove doesn't self-destruct on TV when they announce she has won Ohio. There's bad blood between them. Clinton made some remark about BO that was offensive.

I predict BO will back Biden. Hillary has already criticized BO and BO's people spoke up. There's one not reason why Biden shouldn't be the nominee.

I agree with fairmon, she will self-destruct. Her health will be a factor, she already looks like a tired old sack of potatoes.

Three years of totally balanced budgets, times were exceptionally good while the Clinton's were in office, and Newt Gingrich was banned to the back of Air Force One, when he tried to strong-arm the Prez.

There are those who would love to believe that the Clinton Presidency was a failure, but most Americans want a return to the Clinton years.
