The Chattanooga-made Volkswagen Passat sedan has made another top 10 list, picked one of KBB.Com's 10 most confortable cars under $30,000.

The midsize Passat ranked No. 8 on the list, and it was the least expensive car at $19,325, according to KBB.Com.

The Chevrolet Impala topped the rankings, selling for $26,605.

The Kelley Blue Book Internet site said that new-car buyers don't necessarily have to shop a luxury brand to get an extremely comfortable car, noting that mainstream money can buy some of the quietest cabins on the road, along with many of the comfort-oriented features that debuted upmarket just a few years ago.

"For many car shoppers, comfort is among the top factors in their choice of a new vehicle, especially with so many Americans spending countless hours commuting," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for KBB.com, in a statement.

Assembly of the Passat in Chattanooga will in 2016 be joined by a new sport utility vehicle.
