Chattanooga triple shooting suspect back in jail

A man accused of shooting three people in three places within one hour is back in jail.

Chattanooga police say a woman argued with Jaman Parker at a club on the morning of July 13. The woman was mad because Parker allegedly threatened her sister, Inah Gardner, and his ex - girlfriend, Shaniqua Jordan, with a gun.

Security kicked Parker and the woman out of the club during the argument, but they continued to yell at each other in the parking lot.

“F--- you and your sister,” Parker told the woman, Lashundra Brown, according to an incident report. “I will burn all of you b-------.”

Police say Parker then opened fire outside the homes of Brown, Gardner and Jordan. Officers arrested him on Aug. 2.

On Tuesday morning, Parker was supposed to appear in Hamilton County Sessions Court for a preliminary hearing. But that hearing was pushed back to Aug. 26 because Chattanooga police arrested Parker a second time on Friday.

The arrest is for the same case, just with a different victim. He was arrested the first time on a charge of shooting Jordan. The second time, he was arrested for allegedly shooting Gardner’s 16-year-old son.

Parker faces two counts of attempted first-degree murder, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and two counts of aggravated assault.

“At this point early in the investigation, we’re still discussing with the district attorney the facts surrounding it,” Parker’s attorney, Bill Speek, said Tuesday morning. “He’s looking forward to his day in court.”

According to an incident report, Jordan told police that she heard someone knocking on her window around 5 a.m. She thought it might be Parker, her boyfriend of nine years and the father of two of her children.

Jordan said Parker often knocked on her window in the middle of the night. Jordan asked who was on the other side. Nobody answered. She got out of bed, checked to see who it was. In the shadows, she told police, she thought she saw Jordan. Then, somebody started shooting, about five times.

One bullet hit Jordan, but she survived.

Three months earlier, Jordan and Parker got into an argument when Parker brought a new girlfriend to the Lakeside Park Baseball Fields. She said he pulled a gun on her, threatened to kill her and Gardner, who was also at the park.

Around 4:30 a.m. on July 13, about 30 minutes before Jordan got shot, police say Parker opened fire outside Gardner’s house. One of the bullets that pierced through the window hit Gardner’s son in the groin.

Officers say Parker is a suspect in a third shooting sometime within that hour. He allegedly fired shots toward Brown’s house, hitting a stranger who was passed out on her front porch. However, police say that victim is not cooperating with the investigation.

When officers executed a search warrant at a home where Parker was staying, according to an incident report, they found several guns as well as dried blood in a white Hyundai Sonata. Witnesses said they saw him driving that car earlier in the night.
